The Harry Potter franchise was launched back in 1997 when J.K Rowlings released her first book, Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone. A couple of years later, HBO teamed up with J.K Rowlings and produced 8 movies. All of the movies were based on the original books. Harry Potter books and movies were loved around the world and won many awards as well.

Do you think you’re smarter than Hermione Granger? Why not put your skills to the test with this enchanting game of Wizard’s Chess. This intense chess game will really knock you off your feet. Officially authorized by Warner Brothers, this chess set contains a standard 18.5 x 18.5 chessboard and all 32 of your favorite Wizard’s chess pieces.
This game brilliantly captures all the best elements of the game seen in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. Some elements included with all the different pieces having the mystical sound effects of the full-size players in the film. Each piece is also made proportionally to detail. Though, thankfully no one ends up in the Hogwarts hospital wing in this version.
Not only does this contain the usual pieces: King, Queen, Knight, Bishop, Rook, and Pawns. But as an added touch it contains Hermione’s time turner, two magnetic wands (used in gameplay to move the magnetic rooks), and a floating pen.
The design has been criticized by some as being flawed and somewhat tacky. But, think it has a lot of character and really brings another dimension to the game of Wizard’s Chess.
The game is as easy to play as regular chess… as long as you know how to play regular chess. It may not be suitable for all members of the family, particularly not young ones. But it is the perfect game to play with your intellectual equal- brilliant for rainy weekends.
If you and your family love both Uno AND the Harry Potter series- then this game of Harry Potter Uno is for you!. This is a regular-sized pack of Uno cards, perfect for playing on the go, with one magical twist- all of your favorite characters from the Harry Potter franchise are on the cards. Rather than the usual suits, each of the cards has different colors for each of the four Hogwarts houses.
This is a great game to play with any family member, however, this is probably best suited to adults and older children. The main reason is that the rules can get a little confusing for the young ones. There is a Sorting Hat card which, if drawn, allows you to make any player you like draw until they pull a Gryffindor card, which is a fun and exciting rule.
It is almost impossible to fault something with the simplicity of Uno- this game is brilliant and does what it says on the tin. Many other consumers agree as it is very difficult to find a negative review of this game.
This is an entertaining and fun game to play as a group, with all of our beloved Harry Potter characters portrayed in fun and positive ways one the cards. This is a fantastic game to take on family holidays, camping trips, or even long car journeys to entertain the kids!
Any Harry Potter fan finds themselves playing classic scrabble and wondering if they can use their favorite words and spells. No matter how many times your family checks the dictionary for ‘expelliarmus’ or ‘boggart’. You are never allowed to play them. With Scrabble: World of Harry Potter, this is no longer a problem, you can enthuse about the wonderful spells and language of the Wizarding World as much as you like.
This game brings a mythical twist on the usual family classic. It has the usual Scrabble board and fonts, with 100 wooden letter tiles and 4 letter tile racks. You score bonus points for “magical” words.
For those who know the Harry Potter series inside and out, this can be too big an advantage, as you will not struggle to think of “magical” words. This can sometimes make the game much more difficult for players who don’t have an in-depth knowledge of Harry Potter. But for those of you who are massive Harry Potter fanatics, this will not be an issue.
You can reference any words whether it is from the Harry Potter books or the films. Making this a challenging and competitive game for the ‘live-or-die” Harry Potter fans. This game is intellectually stimulating and amazingly fun for anyone who loves Scrabble and Harry Potter… why not put our vocabulary to the test?
A student has gone missing at Hogwarts and only you can find them!
As if the mystery in the Wizarding World of Harry Potter wasn’t enough, this Clue Harry Potter board game adds even more to the suspense. You can select to play as your favorite character. Whether that is Luna Lovegood or Harry Potter himself, working your way around the board solving clues and mysteries. Featuring rooms and secret passageways from the Harry Potter series itself, this game is too much fun.
This game can take longer than the original game of Clue that we all grew up with, just because the rules can get a little complex. However, this game is still a great family game and should still be simple enough for children over the age of 8.
It could be criticized for being all too similar to regular Clue. However, there are some fun and adventurous HP twists that make this much better.
This is perfect for any family who loves Harry Potter and loves solving mysteries, and has the perfect formula to bring you all together. Can you solve the mystery before it’s too late?
Did anyone else watch Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and really want to take part in the Triwizard Tournament? It looked like good fun. That is, until the return of the Dark Lord. With this Harry Potter Triwizard Tournament game, you can bring the Triwizard tournament into your home. With just as much magical fun, but far less risk of Voldemort’s return.
This game is great to play on fun-filled family occasions, as it is fast-paced and dynamic. Race against three other players to get to the center of the maze and win the game. But, beware of the spell cards which may hinder your progress.
Despite how simple it might seem, there are things that do make this game more complex. Meaning you don’t finish too quickly. Sometimes games can be quite long so they are perfect for an afternoon when everyone has time to play together. The design is fairly cheap and the instructions are on the back of the box, so be careful not to lose the box. Not at least, until you have the hang of it. Though it is fairly straightforward and easy to play, so you don’t actually need to keep the box for too long.
This game is easy enough for younger children whilst still being fun for adults. I know that you and your Harry Potter fanatic family can use it to bring some more enchantment to your household.
This unique game is fun and entertaining to play. Take your family on a spellbinding adventure through a labyrinth to find the secret paths and passageways into Hogwarts.
Don’t be fooled by the simplistic and childish design of the box. This game utilizes its cards and rules to add a layer of complexity that few other games can match, using special moves and tiles to change the course of the game and even obstruct rival players. The board seems complicated at first, as what you think are dead ends can be moved around to reveal secret new nooks and crannies. Could they be the paths you’re looking for? Overall though, this game is simple and easy to learn. As long as you’re tactical, you will find all of your beloved Harry Potter characters waiting for you in the maze: Harry, Ron, Hermione, Professor Dumbledore, Hagrid, and even Hedwig is lurking in the shadows. Can you and your family cast a strategy-spell and work together to find more?
This game can be suitable for younger children if you have the time to sit and help them learn the rules. But if you want to pick up the game quickly then it is better to play with children over 8 years old.
The perfect blend of strategy and fun, this makes a great family game as it is great to teach children logic and maneuver. Whilst still being thought-provoking for adults, still, of course, adding in the twists unique to the Harry Potter franchise. You cannot get bored playing this game and I highly recommend it to any families or groups of friends that really value their game time.
If you are a big fan of the Harry Potter series then you have probably always wished that you could join your favorite characters in the wizarding world to explore and get to know the magical beasts. This game allows you to do just that, as you and the other players get to explore Hogwarts and its grounds, capturing creatures and mythical beasts alike.
The design on the box is eye-catching, and the quality of this game is even better with a unique flipping game board. And the intricate illustrations of all your favorite locations- inside and outside of Hogwarts are a sight for sore eyes.
The only downside to this game is that it is incredibly simple to play- almost too simple. You find yourself double-checking the rules to make sure you’re not leaving part out. That said, its simplicity makes this game perfect for much younger children and older people who might struggle with more complicated games. A perfect one for granny to play with the grandkids.
Overall, this game is fun and it still captures all the magic of the Harry Potter world that makes it so great. This is good fun and very entertaining to play with the kids.
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter has captivated the hearts of many readers, watchers, and families around the world. Primarily because of its moving depiction of the battle between good and evil, settled eventually by the comradery of the pupils at Hogwarts.
This theme is encapsulated beautifully in ‘Harry Potter: Death Eaters Rising’ cooperative dice games, where you play alongside your family and friends to defeat the villainy of the Dark Lord. You’ll also go against Death Eaters who threaten the Hogwarts community. This game is a test of teamwork and strategy, as the players must work together to summon Dumbledore’s army.
The quality of this game can be an issue. Though the box has an absolutely striking design with a beautiful illustration on the front, some of the pieces inside are noted to be fairly low quality. Many players have reported a breakage of the plastic Voldemort figure that comes with the game. That said, there are very few problems with the rest of the pieces and this does not ruin the enjoyment of the game.
The rules can get a little complicated at times but this is a very enjoyable cooperative game for any number of Harry Potter fans. Do you and your loved ones have the strength of heart to take down the Dark Lord himself? Play this game and find out.
For any massive Harry Potter fan, the ability to put yourselves in the shoes of the heroes of the franchise is the dream. Harry Potter Hogwarts Battle Cooperative Deck Building Card Game is the perfect chance to do just this. You play alongside Harry Potter and his friends to destroy the evil forces.
You can really make the game come alive with the ability to master powerful spells, join forces with allies, and much more. This is such a vivid and imaginative product that any Harry Potter fan will simply adore.
The premise and design of this game seem complex. However, it is actually very simple- in many ways, far too easy. There are a lot of reviews that seem to second this, with many others criticizing the game for being too easy.
This problem is only present for the first half of the game, as it does get progressively harder, with 7 different levels of difficulty to work your way through.
In summary, though, this game is still a very good cooperative HP game to play. It maintains that level of imagination and defeat of evil that we all love about the Harry Potter Series.
This game is designed to be an awesome duel- you need to prove your power against other witches and wizards in order to win.
As any Harry Potter fan knows, the house you’re in says everything about your character. Gryffindor for bravery. Ravenclaw for wit. Hufflepuff for loyalty. Slytherin for greatness. In this game, you get to choose exactly which house you’re in, which is a feature that is normally decided for you in other Harry Potter merchandise. It’s nice in this instance to get to choose.
This game is beautifully designed, with detailed images from the movie scattered around the board and cards. It would be nice. If we’re being picky, to see better pieces to use – i.e plastic figures of characters, as it would be much more in keeping with the design.
The instructions are fairly difficult to follow. Ranging from too vague to too in-depth, but after a while, the game becomes easier to figure out. This game is definitely better suited to older Harry Potter fans. However, don’t let that spoil the magic as this is still a delightful little game to introduce to your friends and family.
If you’re a real devotee of the Harry Potter franchise then you’ll know that Defence Against the Dark Arts is one of the exciting classes taught at Hogwarts. Learn to duel against other players in this exciting cooperative game.
Use cards to build an unbeatable deck of House cards, Starting cards, Hex cards, Hogwarts cards, and more in your fight to be top of the class.
The quality of the box and its contents are amazing with eye-catching colors and detailed illustrations on both the game and the cards. This is a really enjoyable game to play and can create lots of laughs as your friends and loved ones sit and play the game together. However, the game can sometimes be too short, as soon as someone gets Severus Snape the game is then near enough over.
Is this really a bad thing? It is possible to consider this ‘true to life’ gameplay. Snape is a very powerful Wizard in both the books and films, who does end a duel almost as soon as he starts. It is just unfortunate if you draw this card too early on in the game.
All of these things taken into account, this is still an exciting game to play with your loved ones and will generate lots of laughter and fun. Perfect for Christmas or rainy days.
